In the last couple of days, we’ve looked at what clutter is and why it’s important to declutter. Today we’re going to be a bit more positive and think about the benefits of decluttering. Here are my 10 benefits of decluttering:

  1. You’re getting rid of rubbish. In clearing my lounge ready t decorate it for Christmas, I ended up sending magazines and papers into the recycle bin.
  2. You’re letting go of the stuff that you don’t need, want or care for.
  3. As a consequence, your home becomes your sanctuary.
  4. You’re not wasting time or energy tidying up stuff. Think of what you could do in that time.
  5. If you’re able to sell some of your things, then you’ll have some money to spend of yourself. What would you like, just for you?
  6. You have space for the things you love. Yay!
  7. The energy around your home feels different. It’s actually quite noticeable. Maybe it’s something to do with Feng Shui. I don’t know.
  8. Having less clutter means that you can become more organised, saving time on finding things when you want them.
  9. As my home becomes less cluttered and tidier, my shame about how my home looks diminishes.
  10. In addition, as my home starts to become my sanctuary again, so I’m able to de-stress and create a relaxing home for my family and friends to enjoy.
