Today is New Year’s day, so after setting out my goals for the year, I planned on taking things easy. My husband had other plans though. Before we went to collect my Dad and bring him over for lunch, hubby decided that:
- now would be a good time to take the Christmas decorations down
- as they were stored in boxes under the stairs, now would be a good time to clear that area too.
So that what we did. I say we, he’d bring out some stuff stored on a shelf unit there, and I’d sit on the sofa with my cup of tea, and go through it. We’d both kept old coursework and materials there, and so all the workbooks from an Open University course I took over 10 years ago went into the recycle bin, as did my notes. I did come across so really great training stuff. One was a workbook I’d developed for the other trainers in my team years ago, but the information and layout were really well done. When I read through it again, I was really proud of what I’d done, and it was a good reminder of what I’m capable of.
We’re throwing out an awful lot of stuff, but it’s really nice to come across little treasures that we’d forgotten all about. It’s time to find them a better home, and value them more than we had done.
Personally, it’s been great having someone to keep me going today. I hope that you’re getting some support too.
Take care for now.
